Hamis Juma - Learning Specialist

Hamis Juma is a educator and researcher committed to advancing education through technology. With expertise in education, research, and project management, he enriches the domains of open education and artificial intelligence (AI) integration. In his previous roles, Hamis served as a Master Trainer at UNESCO MGIEP and held positions as an Instructional Designer at 1 Million Teachers and Graduate Professional Development Trainer. In these capacities, he played pivotal roles in developing training manuals and courses for teacher professional development, as well as managing various projects. Hamis has a proven track record of organizing workshops focused on fostering the adoption of online learning and assessment, integrating Artificial Intelligence into education, promoting Open Education Resources, establishing Future Ready Schools, and addressing Adolescent Health issues.

Hamis has presented his research at numerous conferences and seminars, covering topics such as artificial intelligence in higher education, assessment reforms, and the future of teacher education. Hamis has authored and co-authored several publications on topics related to artificial intelligence, open education, assessment, and educational technology. He actively contributes to the scholarly community as an editorial member of the Indian E-journal of Teacher Education.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Hamis is an active member of esteemed organizations such as the USAID RTAC Research Network, Creative Commons Tanzania, Wikimedia Tanzania, Tanzania Artificial Intelligence Lab, and Open Education Global. Through his involvement in these networks, Hamis continues to contribute to the advancement of education and research practices on both local and global scales.
